Best graphics card for 1080p gaming in India right now
Share
For 1080p gaming in India right now, the RX 9060 XT 8GB or the RTX 5060 are the best buys for most people. Both run new games at high settings and esports titles at high frame rates. For big single-player games kept for years, spend on a 16GB card. Skip the RTX 5050 at today's prices.
| Card | VRAM | Market price, India (Aug 2026) | Our verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| RTX 5050 | 8GB | About ₹44,000 | Skip. Too close to the 5060 |
| RX 9060 XT 8GB | 8GB | About ₹46,000 | Best value for pure 1080p |
| RTX 5060 | 8GB | About ₹48,000 | Good pick if you want DLSS |
| RTX 5060 Ti 8GB | 8GB | About ₹52,500 | Faster, same memory limit |
| RTX 5060 Ti 16GB | 16GB | About ₹82,000 | For AAA games and long ownership |
Market prices are the lowest in-stock base-model listings tracked by TechSpot in August 2026, not our prices. A Hardware Unboxed survey found prices rose a further 8% globally in September, so check today's figure before buying.
Why not the cheapest card, the RTX 5050?
Because in India it stopped being cheap. Between July and August its lowest listed price went from about ₹28,800 to ₹44,000, a 53% jump and the sharpest rise for that card in any country TechSpot tracked. At ₹44,000 it sits only ₹4,000 below an RTX 5060, which is a clearly faster card. TechSpot's best GPU roundup also rates Intel's Arc B580 as noticeably better than the 5050.
If you find a 5050 near its old price, it is a fine esports card. At today's price, add the ₹4,000.
RX 9060 XT 8GB or RTX 5060?
For pure frame rate per rupee, the RX 9060 XT 8GB. TechSpot calls it probably the best value under $300, and measures it about 15 to 20% faster than the Arc B580, which itself performs close to the RTX 5060.
The RTX 5060 makes sense if you want Nvidia's DLSS upscaling and frame generation, which is widely supported, or if you stream with Nvidia's encoder. One honest note: we do not list Radeon cards on our site right now, so ask the store about availability before you plan around one.
Is 8GB enough for 1080p?
For esports, comfortably. For the newest single-player games at high or ultra textures, it is starting to run short. In TechSpot's tests, Spider-Man 2 at 1080p Very High ran at 49 fps on an 8GB RTX 5060 Ti and 78 fps on the 16GB version of the same card. That is the same chip, held back only by memory.
So the real question is what you play. If it is Valorant, CS2 or Fortnite, buy an 8GB card and keep the money. If it is the latest open-world releases, look at 16GB. We break that choice down in our RTX 5060 Ti 8GB vs 16GB guide.
Which older cards should you avoid?
The RTX 3050 6GB and RX 6500 XT 4GB. TechSpot singles both out as poor value, and we agree for gaming. The 3050 6GB is a cut-down version of the 8GB card with less memory and less performance, sold under almost the same name.
We stock it, and it is a reasonable card for an office PC that needs more than integrated graphics. We would not sell it to you as a gaming card in 2026.
From the floor
Most 1080p buyers walk in asking for the cheapest card that "can run games". The better question is which games. Two customers with the same ₹50,000 budget can need very different cards, one playing only Valorant and one waiting to play every big release on day one. Tell us your top three games and the monitor you have, and the right card is usually obvious in a minute.
The other thing we see a lot: people spending ₹4,000 extra on an RGB cabinet and buying a weaker card to make up for it. Put that money into the GPU. Nobody's FPS went up because of a light strip.

FAQ
What is the best graphics card under ₹50,000 for 1080p?
At August 2026 market prices, the RX 9060 XT 8GB at about ₹46,000 or the RTX 5060 at about ₹48,000. Both handle 1080p high settings in most new games. Prices rose again in September, so confirm the current price. If a card you are offered costs more than the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, compare it against that first.
Should I wait for prices to drop?
There is no sign of that soon. Hardware Unboxed's September survey found prices up 8% in a month and 26% since February, driven largely by memory costs. Waiting makes sense only if your current card still runs what you play. If you are buying anyway, buy the right card now rather than a weaker one later.
Is the RTX 3060 12GB still a good buy?
Only if the price is clearly below an RTX 5060. It has more memory, which helps in some games, but it is an older and slower chip without the newest DLSS features. Compare the exact price difference on the day before deciding, and ask us to check it against your games.
What CPU should I pair with a 1080p card?
A current six-core chip such as a Ryzen 5 7500F or Ryzen 5 5600 is enough for any card in this list. At 1080p the processor matters more than at higher resolutions, so do not pair a good card with a very old CPU. Our guide on checking for a CPU bottleneck shows how to test yours.
Will a 1080p card work for 1440p later?
Partly. An RTX 5060 or RX 9060 XT 8GB will run 1440p in lighter and older games, often with upscaling on, but 8GB of memory is where it struggles first in new releases. If a 1440p monitor is in your plans within a year, a 16GB card now saves you buying twice.
